The EN 13724 standard specifies the requirements to be met by postal mailboxes, the level of security, resistance to weather conditions and the users’ safety. It also defines the location of boxes and access conditions for postal mailboxes operators.
The dimensions of the opening slot of the box should be:
1. 30 - 40 x 230 - 280 mm – when letters and packages are placed using shorter edge.
2. 30 - 40 x 325 - 440 mm - when letters and packages are placed using long edge.
Resistance to weather conditions
0 - does not have resistance
3 - high resistance
4 - very high resistance
This standard defines the conditions of closing the flaps, fire resistance, theft prevention, dimensions and other parameters. The compliance with the standard must be approved by appropriate tests.
